I'm a wellness chef and educator.
My wellness journey started when I decided to take charge of my health as a teen. I went dairy free because it made my tummy feel better and cleared up my sinus issues, that followed with gluten-free in my twenties which dealt with brain fog and lethargy.
However, these eliminations from my diet did not bring healing to my body. I became very ill in my mid to late '30s with chronic fatigue and a brain trauma. I found myself desperate for health and out of necessity, seeking wellness became my full-time job.
On this journey, I have tried many things that promised to work but only ever kept my symptoms at bay. The doctors had no solutions for me, so I sought to find full health through eating whole foods in a way to allow my body to heal. I started healing kitchen coach in 2016 as a way to empower other people to heal themselves with using food as medicine. It's amazing how many diseases are preventable, and I am passionate about sharing this restorative health knowledge that has helped my body from being bed-ridden with numerous conditions.
I am a self-taught wellness coach, having attended international seminars on ketogenic health and continually researching the latest health science advancements around the microbiome, micro nutrition, optimum mitochondria function, and the many healing protocols. I have worked around food all my life including chef, alongside working in television production and performance with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Auckland.
On this ever-enlightening wellness journey of mine, I have discovered that food is only a small part to play in a healing transition, but never the less, it is the vital start and foundation that reverses numerous symptoms to make us stronger to travel the next leg of our journey. Ultimately, we need to learn how to create life-long harmony with our kitchen, the earth, and our healing body. And to start by creating habits that nurture us we take charge and responsibility for our bodies to heal. Its an exciting journey!
The methods I teach in my cooking classes, consultations and workshops are not new, but tried and tested for thousands of years and by my own recovery experiences and research from a debilitating illness. We chose wisdom and learn the ancient food preparations since lost and eat a variety of real foods with health-sustaining nutrients.
I teach the foundation of a healing kitchen tailor-made for your body. Whether you are a meat eater, pescetarian, vegan or vegetarian or already on a diet prescribed by your health professional you will benefit greatly from attending my cooking classes. My goal is to guide and encourage you to enable and allow your own body to start to heal itself. Healing Kitchen coach does this primarily by teaching how to prepare whole foods in a way that lower inflammation in the body and bring balance and calm.
I also teach more advanced classes to put your body into a healing state, for incredible results.
